Lodging Reservation Process
Our online registration system allows you to register for your workshop and select lodging in one convenient process.
We offer a wide array of lodging options at discounted rates suitable for varied needs, tastes, and budgets. There are a lot of variables in price, so it is best to acquaint yourself with the lodging options and then check the specific prices within the registration system.
When you select your “ first choice,” the system automatically sends a notification to the lodging provider requesting a reservation. When the lodging provider indicates, “lodging confirmed,” you have a reservation, even though your credit card has not been charged yet. TSRC encourages participants to register ASAP to acquire a reservation. Lodging availability in Telluride is becoming very competitive. As a way to help our participants, we will not begin charging participant’s credit cards until January 5th 2016, even though the lodging reservation will be already secured in our system.
By booking with us, you will get discounted rates and are not subject to Telluride’s 12.4% sales tax and often-levied resort fees of an additional 6-8%.
If you are interested in sharing a place and already have specific roommates lined up, contact them before registering and determine what type of accommodation best suits your group. For example, are you interested in a luxury or basic condo? Does anyone in the group have a favorite place to stay while in town? Next, please designate a head roommate. That individual will be responsible for registering first and selecting the condo. All sub-roommates will then select him or her as their head roommate. Coordinating arrival and departure dates is CRUCIAL. Once the head roommate registers and makes lodging choices, he/she should inform the other roommates that they are expected to register within two weeks.
Full refunds for registration and lodging costs are available if you notify us prior to the cancelation date specific to your workshop. We cannot guarantee refunds after the cancellation date and registration fees are NOT refundable after the cancellation date. Some lodging providers such as the Victorian Inn and Hotel Telluride have very strict 30-day cancellation policies. The Victorian Inn will also charge a $50 change fee to change a reservation.
We require credit or debit card information for everyone who registers.

Telluride is a wonderful place to visit anytime. While it may have a reputation as a pricey destination, with a few easy tips, your stay in town can be quite affordable.
If you are a graduate student or a post-doc, TSRC offers a few scholarships that may apply to you.
Rent a large condo and split the cost among many roommates
BOOK EARLY. We cannot stress this enough. You are much more likely to get the lodging you want if you register early.
The cheapest condos are the bronze, three-bedroom "West-end" condos offered by Telluride Alpine Lodging. Indicate if you are willing to sleep two to a room or sleep on the sofa bed. If you know who you are interested in sharing with, contact them first and designate a "head roommate," who must register first. Please note that all roommates must complete their registrations before the lodging choices made by the head roommate can be confirmed.
Look into flying into nearby towns. Montrose, Durango, or Grand Junction are options, though you will have to rent a car in Grand Junction or Durango. Shuttle prices are considerably more expensive from Durango and Grand Junction and require a minimum number of passengers. Shuttles from Montrose are $50 each way.
If you have more time and can round up some friends, renting a car and driving from Denver, Salt Lake City, or Albuquerque may be the cheapest option. It's about seven hours from these cities to Telluride.
Cooking your own food may be your most affordable route while in town. Be sure to get accommodations with a kitchen or kitchenette if you plan on doing some cooking.
Ask TSRC staff for restaurant recommendations. We are all long-time locals who know where to get the best bang for your buck.
There is a lot of food at TSRC. The breakfasts are included in your registration fee, as are snacks, which are available throughout your meeting.
Nightlife and Entertainment
There is a free concert on Wednesday nights in Mountain Village during the summers. Also, if you happen to be in town during a festival, keep an eye on what is going on in Elks Park or along Main Street. There will usually be some good cheap fun.
There are plenty of bars and nightspots in town that run the gamut from upscale to more affordable. Ask TSRC staff, they'll surely point you in the right direction...
