The Depot Project: Creating a permanent home for Telluride Science and preserving a nationally historic building for public use.

Telluride Science closed on the purchase of the historic Telluride Depot on October 16, 2020. Because of the extraordinary support of our donors, the historic and iconic Depot will become the new permanent home of Telluride Science and will remain a community resource available to the public.

The board and staff of Telluride Science are pleased to have been able to make the Depot building available to the Telluride Medical Center for use as an interim clinic during the pandemic. The Medical Center returned the Depot to Telluride Science in 2022, and we are currently making good use of the building in its as-is state for our public Town Talks and scientist picnics and events as well as private rentals. Reach out to Annie Carlson if interested in renting the Depot before October 1, 2022.

With the help of our amazing and generous donors, Telluride Science will soon transform the building into the Telluride Science & Innovation Center. The Depot will once again be a hub of important exchange. Where once precious minerals were shipped out from the beautiful Telluride box canyon, soon we will export ideas that will change the world. The Depot will be a center for accelerating the advancement of science and technology, a force multiplier for scientific productivity, and a vibrant community space to gather and share information and inspiration.

The Depot purchase was made possible by the success of a three-year phase of the project's capital campaign. The campaign to restore the Depot and complete our vision for the Telluride Science & Innovation Center is underway. Please contact Mark Kozak, TSRC's Executive Director to learn more about this exciting project and how to get involved. We welcome your support!
