Spectroscopy and Dynamics of Coupled Anharmonic Vibrations of Floppy Molecular Systems (In-person Participation)

Meeting Description:

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together leading experts, theorists and experimentalists, in the spectroscopy and dynamics of systems with anharmonic, coupled large-amplitude vibrations. We expect the systems covered by the workshop to include small floppy molecules, hydrogen-bonded and other weakly bound complexes, molecules adsorbed on surfaces or in the interior of nanoporous materials, biomolecules and peptides, both in the gas phase and hydrated, and water itself. Experimental manifestations of the vibrations in these systems contain a wealth of information about the dynamics, geometries/conformations, potential energy surfaces, and other properties. However, extracting this information is possible only with the help of sophisticated theoretical computations. The latter are very challenging, because of the dimensionality of the problem and the often complex potential energy landscape. Developing theoretical methods capable of tackling such systems is a very active area of research.

We wish to ensure an intimate workshop setting, with no more than 20 to 25 participants. If you are interested in attending, but have not received an invitation, please contact the workshop organizer before registering.

TSRC is about expanding the frontiers of science, exploring new ideas, and building collaborations. The workshop schedule will allow for substantial unstructured time for participants to talk and think. All participants are expected to stay for the entire duration of the workshop. Scientists are encouraged to consider bringing family or friends. Telluride offers a number of options for children's camps (including Telluride Academy, Aha School for the Arts, and Pinhead Institute). A $100.00 discount is applied to your lodging cost when you register before 01/31/2022.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation Policy: Once a credit card has been charged, cancelled registrations will be subject to a cancellation fee. We will process registration fees beginning on January 15th, 2022. If a payment of registration fees has been processed, a $25 cancellation fee will be retained from a registration refund. Lodging fee payments will be processed 60 days prior to arrival, and a $100 cancellation fee will apply if cancellations occur after a lodging fee payment is completed. TSRC can only guarantee a refund for the remaining lodging fees if requested prior to the cancellation deadline that is specific to each lodging provider. TSRC always recommends that participants purchase travel insurance to protect against unforeseen, last-minute travel plan changes.
