Solution Based Synthesis of Nanomaterials and their Organization for Hybrid Device Structures

Meeting Description:

Functional nanostructures are at the forefront of many emerging applications. The workshop will focus on novel synthetic routes for the preparation of nanostructured materials and the incorporation of these materials into device structures using strategies that can be scaled for production. Topics will include the preparation of nanomaterials using supercritical, hydrothermal and solvothermal routes, organization and fabrication of nanostructures and functional devices using self-assembly, nanopatterning, nanoimprinting and other approaches, and scaling of these techniques using roll-to-roll, printing and solution based processing. The integration of synthetic routes to discrete nanostructures with strategies for the efficient assembly into devices within a single workshop provides a unique opportunity to cross-fertilize the fields. We envision 8-10 participants each from the US, Europe and Asia, with about half of each group being senior researchers and about half being junior researchers, including assistant and associate professors as well as post-docs and senior graduate students pursuing academic positions.

The workshop is a continuation of a successful series of meetings held in Telluride CO, USA (2011) and Ile d'Oleron, France (2013). The workshop will be co-organized by Prof Tadafumi Adschiri (Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan), Dr. Cyril Aymonier (CNRS, Bordeaux, France) and Prof. James Watkins (University of Massachusetts).

Notes:

The registration fee includes five breakfasts, a Wednesday-night BBQ picnic, and all the coffee and snacks you can eat.

If you are interested in attending a meeting, but have not received an invitation, please contact the workshop organizer about availability before registering. Most TSRC meetings are very small, typically only about 25 people. If you have registered for a meeting you were not invited to, you may be subject to a $100 fee.
