There are many excellent summer programs for kids in Telluride, including the Pinhead Punk Science program, Tuesday evenings from 5:00 – 6:00 in the Mountain Village by the climbing rock in front of the Conference Center. It is a hands-on kids’ science program hosted by Pinhead Institute in collaboration with TSRC.
The Telluride Academy offers week-long summer camp programs and is the largest and most diverse youth organization in Western Colorado. The Academy has over 100 unique arts and outdoor enrichment programs serving kids from ages 4-18. At least once a week, the Town of Telluride Bear Creek Ranger takes kids for a free, guided hike up Bear Creek Canyon. After finishing an activity book and completing a project, the kids are certified as junior rangers.
