WELCOME ACTC PARTICIPANTS
Theoretical chemists, please join us for ACTC 2011 in the stunning mountain town of Telluride, Colorado, July 17-22, 2011. Early-bird special rates have been extended so register now!

ACTC 2011 will feature a week of superb plenary seminars presented by a diverse group of exceptional scientists working at the frontiers of theory, with ample time in the schedule for both formal discussion while in session and informal discussions on the local mountain trails. In keeping with the tradition of the ACTC, the program will address a broad range of current work, ranging from the electronic structure of materials to the structure of membranes. Poster sessions will provide the opportunity for all participants to present their own work to the theoretical chemistry community.
Held every three years since 1972, ACTC is widely attended by chemists from both the United States and abroad; this is the first time ACTC will be in Telluride. The meeting grew from the biennial Gordon Research Conference on Theoretical Chemistry, held from 1962-1970.
The Telluride Science Research Center is proud to host ACTC 2011 from July 17-22nd, 2011, organized by University of Texas Professor Peter J. Rossky. ACTC 2011 will be held in the beautiful, state-of-the-art Palm Theatre in the historic mining town of Telluride, Colorado,
within walking distance of all the town’s amenities. Built with comfortable tiered seating, fabulous acoustics, and a stage that facilitates easy viewing, the Palm is a perfect place for ACTC. Outside the theatre, under airy tents on the school’s sports field and beneath the imposing silhouettes of Ajax and Ballard Peaks, ACTC participants will enjoy delicious, healthy, meals periodically throughout the week.
ACTC 2011 is scheduled immediately following the Telluride School on Theoretical Chemistry.

REGISTRATION
Registration is now open for all interested scientists, from high school students to retired professors. Student registration fees include the full week of 7-nights lodging, allowing time to enjoy the wonderful resort town, where high-alpine hiking, biking, river rafting, fly fishing, horseback riding, and more, are readily available. Early-bird special rates have been extended so register now!
SCHOLARSHIPS
Fellowships for graduate and post-doctoral students are available. At least 50 fellowships in the amount of $600 each will be awarded to graduate students and postdoctoral associate attendees who are presenting a poster on their research at ACTC. To apply, please 1) send your request for a fellowship to Peter Rossky, including a brief description of your own academic position and title of your poster; 2) ask your research supervisor to send a brief email of support for your application to Peter Rossky; and 3) send you poster title and abstract in MS Word in 12 pt Arial font to the ACTC Vice-Chair, James Skinner. (See below for details.) Funding decisions will determine the number of remaining scholarships.
POSTERS
Participants are encouraged to submit a poster presentation. Posters must be no larger that 30" W x 42" H. There will be two poster sessions, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. Posters will be adhered to walls with gaffer's tape. Stiffer poster board may be preferable; otherwise expect some damage when taking down the posters after the session. Those participants wishing to present a poster should email a brief abstract, with title and authors, in MS Word in 12 pt Arial font to ACTC Vice-Chair, James Skinner. Submission of poster abstracts is due on or before June 15th.
